I found Eldad through another guide. Eldad is an experienced, knowledgeable, honest and trustworthy mountain guide. We decided to summit Point Lenana via Sirimon. I’m an experienced hiker who’s done many mountains around the world and put thousands of miles on my hiking boots but the night before the summit push at Shiptons, I got terribly sick for no obvious reasons. I woke up Eldad in the middle of the night and he decided we descend a couple hundred meters to be safe. He was extremely responsive and supportive along with his crew. He managed to get a fire going in freezing temperatures to keep us warm and he insisted I don’t leave my tent until I feel better. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to go back and summit Lenana because my flight from Nairobi was in less than 24 hrs but the experience I had with Eldad on the trails is definitely one to always be remembered. Until next time, Point Lenana and Batian.

Advice to both experienced and inexperienced hikers/climbers especially those coming from sea level like myself: take your time ascending the mountain and embrace its beauty on the way to the summit. Always remember that we’re out there to observe and embrace beauty and grace.

He was super patient with our endless stops to take pictures, and he helped us to overcome a small “cooking-challenge” we had to face. With other guides I have felt some sort of paternalistic approaches, but with Eldad we did not feel this at all. Our guide, Eldad, was brilliant! At the beginning he helped us pack and lent us some warm layers (you definitely need them!). During the hike he was friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. Towards the end of the hike, Eldad was flexible as my friend and I walked at different paces, he adapted the hike so they we could separate and finish the hike at our own pace.

  Went up sirimon and down chogoria. Not sure how I’d never herd of mount kenya until I was finalizing my trip as it’s an absolute beauty of a mountain. Definitely... read more the coolest place I’ve been in my life. Saw all sorts of birds, beasts and plants. The guides were all amazing as well and the food was in all honesty the best we’d had in our 2 months in kenya before we started our hike. They’ve really mastered their work and know just about everything on the mountain. I’d say anyone who’s decently fit can do it pretty easily, especially if you pay for porters (we didn’t but the ones we saw were absolute units, fellas were carrying a whole town on their back for some of the more leisurely hikers like it was nothing). If you have a negative experience on this mountain with this company it’s on you. Our guides went above and beyond, and even took us on some extra little side hikes on the way back. Also if you fish bring a pole. Chogoria side has soooo many trout. Still mad I didn’t bring mine. Overall 10000% worth the money, went on a small safari but in my opinion this was much cooler.

  It was my first time to Summit Mt Kenya and Ahambi tours for the 4 days you were excellent. The first day from Sirimon Gate to Old Moses Camp I... read more got stomach problems and Paul was very supportive. Day of Summitting from Shipton to Peak Lenana I didn't sleep, Eldad was very supportive and added me a jacket. Then the King of Summitting Mt Kenya Mr Ngare Thoithi came in very handy. Even after summitting and I started nose bleeding, he took me at my place and made sure I finished strong. The way you also made everyone be able to Summit even the 8 year old Elsie and 10 year old Darwin was just spectacular. We can't forget amazing porters who went out of their way and Macharia the cook. We miss the Scotch soup / butternut soup. Thanks so much Eldad, Paul and more so Mr Ngare.

The pick up from home and other pick up points were super excellent. When I woke up after night request for early pick up after hike and found our vehicle waiting for us, means your team is well organized.

Everything fell in place and Ahambi tours team went out of there way to ensure we are more than comfortable. We didn't have any complain at all.
